I thought long and hard about where to put my store. For many good reasons I settled on Hel-Mel, the intersection of Heliotrope and Melrose, and one of the sweet spots of East Hollywood.

Great Building

Classic 1920’s row storefronts. A big chunk of it used to be Pak-Am Stationary, filling all your Pakistani-American Stationary needs. Rehabbed by the current owner and quickly filling up with creative and energetic tenants.

Lovely neighbors

Our little corner is shaping up as a new cutting edge shopping and cultural district. Highlights include Scoops (avant-garde gelato), Fake, a long-standing standup comedy incubator, Sacred Fools Theater, Eyetailor boutique, Eric Berg’s Early California Antiques, Synchronicity Gallery, Pure Luck Vegan Café (good beer & fries), Orange 20 bicycles, and, directly across the street, the historic Jensen’s Melrose Theatre- now the Ukrainian Culture Center (AKA Quinceañera Central).
